Recertification
How to recertify the CTFP, GTC and CDCE
Our Global Trade Certificate (GTC) and Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP) qualification are valid for three years before they must be recertified. The Certified Documentary Credits Expert (CDCE) qualification is valid for five years. Note the first recertification for CDCE is free. The objective of recertification is to ensure that holders continue to maintain ICC standards of trade finance skills and understanding.
Recertification process
Earn the required credits within the validity period – see below:
- GTC: 20 credits in 3 years from certifying
- CTFP: 24 credits in 3 years from certifying
- CDCE: 50 credits in 5years from certifying
Retake the exam.
- After earning the required credits, you must retake and pass the relevant exam. The recertification exam costs US$100.
Check validity.
- Your recertification will be valid for 3 years from the date you pass your recertification exam.
Your journey to recertification
There are two ways in which you can earn credits to progress to an examination retake. If you need to revise for the examination, we offer 3 months of access to core courses and the final exam for USD $350.
- Academic training
- Complete ICC Academy e-courses or trade finance-related training through other institutions.
- Each hour of training represents one credit.
- Submit a certificate of completion or achievement and the agenda/program showing required hours.
- Events, workshops, and seminars
- Attend relevant events such as the ICC Academy Supply Chain Finance Summit, trade finance events hosted by ICC National Committees, or other events, e.g. by Global Trade Review
- Each learning hour is worth one credit.
- Submit a certificate of attendance and the agenda/program showing the required hours.
