All of our exams are live proctored via the Internet to ensure their integrity. You will need to use the Google Chrome browser and give the proctor access to your webcam. For more information, visit our examination support page.
For full certification programmes (GTC, CTFP, EIC, NBL, EMA): Download your ICC certificate from the Learning Management System (LMS) dashboard under the Learning Paths section after passing your final exam.
For individual e-courses: After completing all lessons, download your Certificate of Completion from the LMS dashboard under the Completed Courses section. Note that individual e-courses do not have a final exam.

- To recertify the Global Trade Certificate (GTC), you need to earn 20 credits within the three-year validity period.
- For the Certified Trade Finance Professional (CTFP), you need 24 credits within the same three-year period.
- For the Certified Documentary Credits Expert (CDCE), you need to earn 50 credits within a five-year validity period. The first recertification for CDCE is free.
Yes, you must retake and pass the relevant exam (GTC, CTFP, or CDCE) after earning the required number of credits. The re-certification exam costs US$100 and can be taken only after fulfilling the credit requirements.
To take the ICC Academy online exam, you need the following:
- A computer running Windows Vista or higher (for PC users) or Mac OS X or higher (for Mac users).
- A webcam with a minimum resolution of 640×480 pixels (built-in webcams are acceptable).
- A set of functioning headphones or speakers, and a working microphone (either standalone or built into your webcam or laptop).
- A reliable high-speed internet connection (preferably wired) with a minimum speed of 768 Kbps/384 Kbps (Download/Upload).
- Google Chrome browser with a required plugin for the exam.
- This is a closed-book exam, but handwritten notes can be used.
If your account has expired and you haven’t attempted the exam, you can extend access to the course materials and a one-time exam attempt for:
- USD $200 for GTC and CTFP.
- USD $120 for all other certificates.
If you failed the exam and want to extend your access, the cost is:
- USD $200 + USD $100 (Exam Retake fee) for GTC and CTFP.
USD $120 + USD $60 (Exam Retake fee) for all other certificates.
Extensions must be purchased within 6 months of account expiry, otherwise, you will need to repurchase the full program.
All ICC Academy course materials are provided exclusively online through our Learning Management System (LMS), so no physical textbooks are included. However, within the LMS, you’ll find a wealth of supplementary materials, including glossaries and study guides for courses like the EIC, CTFP, GTC, and Incoterms® 2020 Certificate. These resources can be printed and used for offline study.
Additionally, we offer a selection of supporting eBooks, available for separate purchase, which complement the courses and certificates. This combination of interactive online learning and downloadable eBooks creates a comprehensive educational experience.
