Lessons
In this lesson, we will cover a contextual overview of international trade, including a treatment of the risks related to the conduct of business across borders, as well as an introduction to some of the institutions that support and enable international commerce.
In this lesson, we will look at trade from the perspective of market selection and market entry options and strategies. We will highlight key dynamics in the market today, and look at specific entry strategies, including engagement through global supply chains.
In this lesson, we will take a look at the important dimensions covered by a PESTE analysis (Political, Economic, Social, Technological and Environmental) and their impacts.
The focus of this section is to demonstrate that financing is a critical enabler of international commerce, and that there are clear linkages between trade activity and financing needs, options and opportunities.
In this lesson, we will introduce the reality that international commerce involves dealing with legal traditions and practices that can differ significantly across jurisdictions and markets. Equally importantly, there is a context of international law that applies at a supra-national level, and contracting as well as dispute resolution must also account for these elements.
In this lesson, we take a forward-looking perspective, outlining new developments in technology, business models and practices impacting the ways global trade is conducted.
This section will test your knowledge on what you have learned so far and aims to equip you with the skills and context you will need in the field. Please note, this is not an exam.
