Lessons

Lesson 1: Global Marketing Overview

In this lesson, we will explore how acquiring competence in strategic marketing becomes necessary when growing internationally, especially when selecting your most promising markets and adapting marketing strategies to optimally penetrate them.

Lesson 2: Cross-Cultural Management

In this lesson, we will cover the importance of cross-cultural management to international business activities.

Lesson 3: E-commerce & International Trade

In this lesson, we will cover the integration of information and communication technologies (ICTs) into global business operations. We will also explore how today’s digital ecosystem facilitates international trade – and impacts major policy issues affecting global e-commerce.

Lesson 4: Fair Trade

In this lesson, we will cover how Fair Trade is used in international trade including the processes, benefits, and business impacts. However, we will also explore the common criticisms of Fair Trade today.

Lesson 5: Intellectual Property in Business

In this lesson, we will cover the importance of protecting intellectual property (IP) from a global perspective. We will also explore the benefits and costs of international protection schemes, as well as the procedures required.

Lesson 6: International Business Expansion

In this lesson, we will cover two of the indispensable business structures for international expansion: licensing and franchising. What are the similarities, differences, benefits for each?

Lesson 7: Case studies

In this section, we will take a look at three sample case studies that showcase how simple solutions can remedy problems often seen in this sector.

Do I get a certificate?

This course forms part of the curriculum for the Export/Import Certificate (EIC) but can also be purchased on its own.

If you just complete this course then you will earn a Letter of Completion once you finish (please note there is no exam for this individual course).

However, this course can also be put towards achieving the EIC qualification. More details can be found here.

If you complete the EIC then you will earn a Certificate of Achievement, signed by the ICC Secretary General, once you pass the final exam.

Are there any prerequisites for taking this course?

A strong interest in international trade is recommended and all candidates need to be able to read and write in English.

How long do I have access to the course for?

Your purchase includes 12 months to access all 5 lessons. You can access the lessons as many times as you like within the 12-month access period.
